My name is Amy Zischke, a third generation member of a family of Milliners. I am based in the Lockyer Valley, South East Queensland, Australia (an hour out of Brisbane CBD).
I have a passion for millinery and all things hats, love the racing scene, and love to see my hats and fascinators finish off a fantastic outfit when I see them trackside. I also have a huge collection myself, of hats I've made to sell, but just can't bear to part with!
All my hats are hand blocked and mostly hand stitched, and I do my utmost to ensure a high standard of workmanship. My designs are inspired usually late at night, unable to sleep due to creative thoughts running through my head. I hunt for unique trims to base my design around and to ensure you have an original piece. I love to create headpieces and hats that complement individual styles and looks.
Having Millinery as part of our family tradition, I was keen to learn the trade of my grandma Eva, a highly skilled, sought after and trained milliner. So since the age of 16, I have been taught by her, soaking up her valuable talent & skill. Years of practise and a keen eye on the fashion trends has helped me develop my skills over the years.
I have also participated in many additional tutorials and seminars with some of the UK and Australia's best milliners to learn the latest millinery techniques.
